Results from Gram Vaani’s community survey (1700+ respondents), about access to the lockdown related relief measures in rural Bihar, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh.

Insights

-Over 60% of the respondents have not received the free ration to which they were entitled. Anganwadi linked distribution is doing marginally better. - At least 1 in 2 people have not received the financial assistance promised to them. - Over 50% respondents said they can only manage household expenses for a week if the lockdown were to be extended; 1 in 4 had no idea how long they would be able to manage. - Most respondents said that the police and local officials were not stopping them from accessing essential services, but close to 25% respondents claimed forceful behavior.
