At Dalberg, we are executing several initiatives including pro bono activities to support the COVID-19 response. Our main thrust through these initiatives is to convene various stakeholders, gather insights, and present recommendations to inform action. With support from Omidyar Network India and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies, we have been leading a rapid, multi-round study across 15 states (over 50k households) to capture the cumulative efficacy of government entitlements in helping BPL families navigate the financial impacts of COVID-19. Our motivation to conduct this study is to help policymakers make timely, informed decisions about entitlements during this crisis. Noting the urgency of the crisis, we are releasing preliminary results on an iterative basis for policymaking purposes, including individual summaries of findings for each state in the study. Wider release of findings is planned at the conclusion of the project; please contact the Dalberg team if you are interested in reviewing the findings.
