International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) conducted a rapid COVID-19 phone survey of Self Employed Women’s Association members in India to study knowledge, attitude, and practice on COVID-19, and impacts on economic outcomes, migration, food and water security, intrahousehold relations and relief received. This phone survey seeks to understand COVID-19 impacts and will elicit information on relief obtained from a series of SEWA members in rural and urban areas. In rural areas, a series of value chains will be covered including dairy. We are also trying to understand how women’s access to agriculture information and extension has been affected by the lockdown and how it has impacted farm output.
We are curating a special series of blogposts analyzing the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on national, regional and global food and nutrition security, poverty, and development.
